GoodMood Kombucha was founded in New York City in 2023 by chef Chris Li with a simple idea: kombucha should taste really good. After years of working in kitchens where flavor was everything, Chris couldn’t ignore the gap in the beverage aisle. Kombucha had become known for its benefits — but not always for its taste.
Too vinegary. Too intense. Too niche. He believed you shouldn’t have to “acquire” a taste for something that’s supposed to make you feel good. So he started with one flavor — Berry Pomegranate — and set out to craft kombucha that people would actually crave.
Founded in 2023
From day one, GoodMood Kombucha has been flavor-forward. We brew real kombucha, but we approach it like chefs — balancing acidity, fruit, botanicals, and brightness so every sip feels clean, refreshing, and intentional. We don’t dilute what kombucha is. We respect the fermentation, the craft, and the culture. But we also refuse to accept that it has to be harsh to be authentic. Our mission is simple: kombucha that tastes really good.

We’re proud of our NYC roots — the pace, the creativity, the diversity — and we carry that energy into every flavor we launch.
